This blog is changing focus
It's been a while since I sat down and wrote a blog post. I wanted to write a lot more this year, but it's not gone that way. It's hard to find a reason to write, when so much is automatically written these days. If I see another post with some strappy AI-generated blog post like "I built a React Native Massage Machine. Here's what it took.", I'd like to think I'd scream but actually, I think it'd just be another day. C'est la vie.

Jokes aside, I've become quite detached from writing about tech stuff that I'm working on. I've actually struggled to keep going, all thanks to AI sucking the fun out of most of what I enjoyed about code. It doesn't feel like there's much to write about, unless I work on a side-project (which, although I have done some bits and bobs, nothing of note from this year really constitutes worthy of writing about).
So I wanted to give a heads up to anyone who stumbles across this site; the blog needs to change. I can't just write about code anymore.
Prior to starting this website, I ran a social group, which had a geek-themed blog attached to it. It was mildly successful too. If you don't know about it, because you've stumbled upon this site via some good old Google-Fu, go check out the Projects page and you'll see an entry for GeekOut South-West, to give you an idea.
I yearn to see human-made stuff again. I don't like how sterile the web has become, how samey everything in tech now feels. I want to write about fun things that interest and excite me again.
So, I'm going to add in a tag system soon, so posts can get tagged with topics - And I'm not going to just write about tech, or what side-projects I'm working on etc. Time to get back a bit of the humanity I've been yearning for.
